The National PTA Refections program is PTA's cornerstone arts program. It offers students the opportunity to earn local, state, and even national recognition for original artwork they create in response to a specific theme. Students have the opportunity to explore the arts and culture, develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills, and recognize themselves as artists. All students are welcome to interpret the theme and explore the arts including students with special needs.

Summary of General Rules:

• Student entry forms must be completed, signed by parent, and attached to entry. State entries will be judged on how well the student uses his or her artistic vision to portray the theme, originality and creativity, therefore, the statement of work is very important in explaining how the entry reflects the theme!

• Each entry form must be “sponsored’ by a PTA member (Bledsoe parent) and requires a date that they joined.

• Students can participate in all six categories and as many entries as he/she would like. However, entries that were created by a few students will only be credited to one student and be recognized as the award recipient. Other individuals may appear in or perform a student’s work, but the work itself must be the creative product of one student.

* Families can support their children's participation by providing encouragement and needed materials. Entries should represent students' unique creativity - adults are welcome to encourage students by are asked not to assist in any way with their interpretation of the theme "What is Your Story?" or assit with artistic expression.

• Only new pieces of art inspired by the “What’s Your Story?” theme should be submitted.

• Use of copyrighted material is prohibited, except for background music in dance choreography and film.
